EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

MARCH 15, 2010

PRESENT: Dave Moore, Larry Lapp, Paul Jacobson, Al Finder, Scott Sinz, Bob Kistner, Mike Lauer, Helmuth Albrecht, Mike Kistner, Wayne Wilson, Chad Mogen, Rich Leventhal, Myron Siler, Bridget Schroeder. Special guest, Arden Alexander

  1. Arden Alexander came to speak regarding a proposal of naming the one-way in front of the Lions Pavilion “Hastings Place”. The reason for this, in 1985 Ron Hastings helped bring the state bowling tournament to the City of Menomonie; he was instrumental in designing and building the pavilion. Arden would like the Fish & Game to support this process. Randy Eiden, City Administrator has assured the club that only the one-way section will be “Hastings Place”. The City will also allow the club to name the road from the right hand turn to the boat landing “Fish & Game Road. There was some discussion regarding possible veto from one of the regular meetings a few years back. Paul Jacobson made a motion Larry Lapp seconded to approve the renaming of these 2 intersections as long as “Hastings Place” doesn’t come all the way to the club house. If it did, we are opposed. Motion carried.

  1. Committee reports need to be turned to the President, Dave Moore by the Regular Meeting on March 22, 2010. Larry Lapp made a motion and Helmuth Albrecht seconded to have each chair-person evaluated that has not been turned in, be re-evaluated. Motion Carried.

  1. Gun Show report. Sold 461 in tickets. Booth cost $30, Gary Schwoch paid for half. It was well worth the time and effort.

  1. Larry Lapp made a motion and Wayne Wilson seconded the proposed budget for the 2010 Fall Banquet. Proposed profit of $27,325.00. Chad Mogen asked when the club would be seeing a detailed budget and expense report for the whole committee and bar accounts. Helmuth explained that he is working on possibly getting all this information into the computer so that this can happen. Motion Carried.

  1. Larry Lapp made a motion and Paul Jacobson seconded, to allow Wayne Wilson to place an ad in Wisconsin Wildlife Federation calendars, for the clubs upcoming Ice Fishing Contest date and Fall Banquet date. Last year’s cost was $60-70 per ad. Possible $140 per year. Motion Carried.

  1. Scott Sinz was informed by Dan Prestebak that there may be $2,500 of unused Conservation Aid funds available due to the lack of support for the Eau Claire Rifle Range. A motion was made by Paul Jacobson and seconded by Mike Lauer to bring a motion to the general meeting to match funds of $3,668 for the rifle range should the unused Conservation Aid funds come available. Motion Carried.

  1. Wayne Wilson was informed that someone is willing to donate a used helium tank (asking for 2 banquet tickets) to the club for blowing up balloons. A motion was made by Wayne Wilson and seconded by Al Finder to table this item pending further investigations. Need to check on insurance, price to refill, liability to club house. Motion Carried.

  1. Bob Kistner informed the group that the tin for around pheasant pens would cost $4,000. We will have to wait until next year for this project. 2 chicken dinner tickets will be given to Olson’s for straw for the pheasants when they arrive.
