EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

MAY 17, 2010


PRESENT: Dave Moore, Larry Lapp, Paul Jacobson, Al Finder, Scott Sinz, Bob Kistner, Mike Lauer, Helmuth Albrecht, Mike Kistner, Wayne Wilson, Joel Radke, Chad Mogen


  1. Motion made by Wayne Wilson and seconded by Mike Kistner to approve up to $1500 for Youth Fishing Event at Herbie’s Bull Frog Fish Farm


  1. Rocky Mountain Elk discussion. Scott Sinz made a motion of $250 to support WI RMEF as a sponsor, Paul Jacobson seconded. Motion Carried.


  1. Budget for Wisconsin Conservation Congress meeting-requested $1,000. Sent 5 delegates. Motion to form a committee to report back to board on recommendations. Motion was made by Wayne Wilson and seconded by Al Finder. Motion Carried.


  1. Letter Approval for sponsorship for Fall Banquet. Motion made by Paul Jacobson and seconded by Wayne Wilson. Motion Carried.


  1. Discussion on Rodney Finder receiving pheasant points or fun money for preparation of meeting meals. Rodney will receive 20 birds or the fun money equivalent.


  1. Pheasant point discussion-No decision to make any changes.


  1. Discussion about Larry Lapp serving on the Board while being a paid employee of the Dunn County Fish & Game Association. It was also brought up that there are 3 other board members that are also paid employees.


  1. Discussion about making a parking lot by the pheasant pens. Discussion that this will be the next project after the pheasant pens are completed.


  1. Wayne Wilson brought up that there needs to be more security with the key box and alarm codes. People are careless.


  1. Mike Lauer reported that the ATM would not give out equal cash. Problem was with the time zone and has been fixed.


Motion made by Al Finder and seconded by Paul Jacobson to adjourn. Motion Carried.

President Dave Moore called the meeting to order.

A reading of the minutes was waived due to them being published in the newsletter, email and posted on the website Mike Benzel moved and Dave Leach seconded a motion to accept the minutes as printed in the newsletter. Motion carried.

Attendance was down. 2 resolutions are going to be passed on to committee; 1- is the number of fish you can take from Lake Eau Galle and 2-being allowed to bow hunting on Hoffman Hills.

Open House was slow, will try again. August 3rd is next session for Hunter Education or July 19th for summer rec. DKS received bid for north berm to get in place. Check for the NRA grant came today. Donation will need to go to County Board for approval. Pheasants Forever has donated $500. County has donated at least $23,000 FYI.

  1. LEGISLATIVE – MIKE BENZEL

Bear proposal VETO in committee. DNR and HSUS Society are running ads on TV not pick up baby deer on the road. DNR is taking some flak.

Remodeling is going good. Pheasants will arrive on May 28.


H. GILBERT CREEK-GARY BUSS

No report for Gilbert Creek however reminder was given regarding “Women On Target Shoot” which is scheduled for June 1st at 5:30 p.m. Need people to sign up to work.

Paul Jacobson made a motion and Jake Evan seconded to return to members helping out instead of allowing school clubs to serve. Motion Carried. June 29th next chicken supper. Guest speaker Charlie Luthin from the Natural Resources Foundation came to give an update on the Lower Chippewa River Basin Conservation Fund. The Association originally started with a $1,000 donation; which has now grown to $6,400. Thank you for your generation donations and keep up the good work!
