EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

AUGUST 18, 2010

PRESENT: Dave Moore, Larry Lapp, Paul Jacobson, Al Finder, Scott Sinz, Bob Kistner, Mike Lauer, Helmuth Albrecht, Mike Kistner, Wayne Wilson, Joel Radke, Chad Mogen, Bridget Schroeder

  1. Tables will be coming up for auction at Stout, Larry will attend with Pookie. They will have around 3 to 11 tables and the cost is $140 a pieces. There is a slight chance that Stout has round tables for sale. We are OK for now, but need to inventory current tables and chairs.

  1. Arden Alexander and Dave Moore have discussed renaming the road in front of the clubhouse. Suggestions for renaming the street in front of the clubhouse will be brought to the clubhouse.

  1. There is a request from the Oaklawn Elementary Acorn Dash on October 9th. It was suggested by Chad Mogen that we have a “canned gift” for charity events that are coming up. A motion was made by Wayne Wilson and seconded by Paul Jacobsen to set an amount for non-conservation related events that the board sees fit.

  1. There was a Banquet update from Pookie. 1099’s should be issued to anyone that wins over $600 in prizes. Based on information received; Bridget will bring W-9 to the Banquet for winners to fill out to receive a 1099. Bridget will make a flyer for notice. Currently we have 202 signed up. $10,000 in money raised already.

  1. SPEAKER NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SATURDAY.

  1. Scott Sinz presented an update on possible deck addition. Carl Rudingberg will do the engineering for $500, normally charges $1,000. He has reviewed the material list, and thought it was adequate. Discussion on how to attach the deck to the building; free standing with anchors to the building, steel staircase or wood, stainless screws or coated deck screws. If a 56’x16’ is built we wouldn’t have state fees. Liability issues would be the cost of the structure. Could cost anywhere between $4,500 to $7,000, max $10,000. Chad Mogen suggested taking out possible take a short-term note. Need a list of pros and cons to the general membership. It was suggested to sell tickets to raise funds for a new deck and possible bar upstairs. Bob Kistner made a motion and Mike Lauer seconded to take to membership to see if they are in favor of this as a ballot vote. Motion carried.

  1. Mike Lauer mentioned that Sept 25th is the Elderly/Disabled Pheasant Hunt. Would like to see more local people involved. Please contact Gene Hatfield or Mike Lauer if interested.

  1. Bridget Schroeder made motion, and Wayne Wilson seconded to sell beer and bar rail drinks for $2.00; top-shelf $3.00, wine $2.00 and pop $1.00 at the Fall Banquet. Motion carried. Bridget will bring signs to hang up at the banquet.
