EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

MARCH 14, 2011


PRESENT: Dave Moore, Larry Lapp, Bob Kistner, Mike Kistner, Wayne Wilson, Helmuth Albrecht, Len Frank, Scott Seston, Scott Sinz, Heather Kistner and Bridget Schroeder


  1. Bridge to Hope-An organization to end domestic violence and sexual assault, would like to use the facility to host Bridge Bash on November 12, 2011, a benefit to raise money for the organization. They would like us donate the facility and any profit from the bar would go to the club. A motion was made by Scott Sinz and seconded by Wayne Wilson send the motion to the general meeting to donate the clubhouse. Motion Carried.


  1. Presentation from EO Johnson Company on copier machine-

Nancy Duncan from EO Johnson came to give a presentation on replacing the copy machine. The price for a color copier is $3,325 to purchase new or $115 to lease with a $1 buyout at the end of the 36 month lease. The price to purchase just a standard desk top black and white copier is $1,700 Maintenance fee is $75 per quarter which would include toner and replacement parts. A motion was made by Bridget Schroeder and seconded by Pookie Albrecht to purchase the color copy machine. Motion failed. Motion made by Scott Sinz and seconded by Len Frank to table this motion until we can get further information on purchasing the $1,700 copier.



  1. Replacement of TV- It was decided to take the TV to Wal-Mart and have them fix because a warranty was purchased.



  1. Replacement of Safe- Larry presented several options on a new safe.

Prices vary from $600 to $900. Motion was made by Dave Moore and seconded by Scott Sinz to table this until further information can be obtained. Motion carried.



  1. Harmon Supper Season Ticket pricing- The executive committee makes the recommendation to set the Season ticket price at $54 and have special seating. Larry will be contacting Bob DeLong.






  1. Meeting on Bar with Bill Stewart- Bill was happy to see that we are now taking inventory, recommends that we should have shot measurers on each bottle, some of the inventory should be reduced and if we have 2 bartenders at a time then we should have 2 tills. Scott Sinz made a motion and Bridget Schroder seconded to transfer money from the general association account to the bar account to reimburse the funds for the membership purchases throughout the year. Motion Carried.




  1. Executive Committee Meeting Dates-

A motion was made by Len Frank and seconded by Dave Moore to hold the executive committee meeting on the same night as the regular meeting but start the meeting at 5:30 p.m. if the meeting runs later, then we will continue after the regular meeting. Motion Carried



A motion was made by Pookie Albrecht and seconded by Bob Kistner to approve 5 members to attend the conservation congress for $1200 to be used for meal and hotel expenses. Motion Carried.

A motion was made by Bob Kistner and seconded by Dave Moore to have Shackelton cut down the cedar trees along the north side of the pheasant pens for $150 and 4 chicken dinner tickets. Motion carried.



A motion was made Dave Moore and seconded by Len Frank to adjourn at 9:06 p.m. Motion Carried.

  1. CALL TO ORDER

President Larry Lapp called the meeting to order.


  1. SECRETARY’S REPORT-BRIDGET SCHROEDER

A reading of the minutes was waived due to them being published in the newsletter, email and posted on the website Mike Benzel moved and Al Finder seconded a motion to accept the minutes as printed in the newsletter. With once exception: leftovers in the freezer, not refrigerator as reported in February Motion carried.


  1. TREASURER’S REPORT-HELMUTH ALBRECHT

­­­­Reading of the treasurers was given. Bar & Building account total revenues $4,389.58 total expenses $2,646.59; Total general account revenues $1,035.23 total expenses $2,149.37. Duke Holmberg moved and Dave Kraft seconded a motion to accept the treasurer's report. Motion carried.

  1. DNR REPORT- JESS CARSTEN

Bear Bait Survey is getting closer. There will be a training session this Saturday, April 2nd and next Wednesday April 6th from 5-7. Purple Martin houses are available; if you know any good places to put these up, please call Jess.


  1. DUNN COUNTY CONSERVATION ALLIANCE REPORT-SCOTT SINZ

June 18th is the Disabled Fishing Event; Scott will be passing around a sign up sheet to volunteer. Set up a night to view “Trouble Water” video. Scott Sinz made a motion to donate the clubhouse May 17th 7:30 p.m. 2 politicians came to the meeting last week regarding the “Repeal of the Phosphorous Ban” The Alliance is drafting a letter to support the ban and would like the Fish & Game to send a letter also.





  1. WISCONSIN CONSERVATION CONGRESS REPORT-RUSS HITZ

Spring questionnaire was passed out. 84 questions to be discussed. Russ stressed that we should have a good turn out; due to the how the Governor will see conservation.

Learn to hunt for Bear. 4 tags were requested, not sure how many we will get. Looking for volunteers to help out. If you have property that you would be willing to allow this to happen, please see Jim.

  1. RIFLE RANGE & HUNTER SAFETY-DUKE HOLMBERG

39 in Hunter’s Education. The next class will begin July 27. Currently have 25 signed up, if you know someone that would like to get registered for the next class call 232-1664. There will be another class on July 18 through the Rec Department. April 30th is range clean up. 11 new supervisors came and took the class so we should be in good shape for range coverage. Duke Holmberg made a motion and Martha Stratton seconded, the purchase 4 savage rifles, bolt action at $150 each. Motion carried

No report. Mike has the GPS coordinates if you are interested in seeing where they are.



  1. LEGISLATIVE/XCEL ENERGY – MIKE BENZEL

No increase in fees in hunting or fishing fees for the next 2 years.



  1. ICE FISHING CONTEST - MIKE KISTNER & LES KUESEL

J. HARMON CHICKEN SUPPER – BOB DELONG/MIKE BENZEL

There will only be 6 servers; kitchen help will stay the same. No beer or cooler upstairs. No giblets served until the last table has been served. The servers will now where gloves, and hair nets. If 4 people that you invite come to the dinner, then you will be eligible for a free dinner (CLUB MEMBERS ONLY). There will be reservations this year. There will be season tickets available for $54 on the first date and $46 on the second date. The bar will be open at 4:00 p.m. If there are problems, they will have to be addressed at a later date.

Bonnie will be coming next week to clean the kitchen. Caterer’s need to make sure that all messes are cleaned up. The Executive Committee will discuss at their next meeting.

  1. OLD BUSINESS-

Copier replacement. The Executive committee met with a representative from EO Johnson. Don Heifner made a motion and Pookie Albrecht seconded to allow the board to make the decision and proceed. Motion carried.


Women on Target Shoot posters are available. Please take some and pass them around.


Scott Sinz made a motion and Rich Leventhal seconded to transfer $6,200 from the general account to the bar & building account to account for member consumptions. Motion was tabled.

Youth Fishing June 16th at Herbie We need someone to take phone calls and take reservations.
