EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

JULY 25, 2011


PRESENT: Dave Moore, Larry Lapp, Wayne Wilson, Helmuth Albrecht, Scott Seston, Heather Kistner, Mike Kistner, Scott Sinz, Len Frank, Bob Kistner, Chad Mogen, and Bridget Schroeder


1. Conservationist of the Year:

The nominations for the member and non-member were voted on and approved. The winners will be notified by Larry and the awards will be given at the Fall Banquet.


2. Banquet Update:

36-37 invites received to date and a little behind on money raised from the sponsorship from last year; due to the lack of face to face contact there has been to our last year’s sponsors.


3. Fair Booth:

The sign up sheet will be going around at the meeting to work the fair booth. Even if you can only come down for an hour, it would be a good idea to stress to all our members to come down and work.


NEW BUSINESS-


Chad Mogen mentioned that a Bobcat was killed and recommends that it be stuffed and mounted for display use. Scott Sinz made a motion and Len Frank second to set aside $300 to have the Bobcat mounted. Motion carried.


Bob Kistner made a motion and Scott Sinz seconded a motion to donate $25 to Fire Station kickball tournament. Motion carried.


August 16 is Lammer’s Community Auction and last year the club and members donated a pheasant hunt with Bob Kistner and Dave Moore. Dave Moore will be in charge of putting together this package again. Mike Kistner made the motion and Bridget Schroeder seconded along with 2 memberships. Motion carried.


Irvington Days is looking for a donation of 2 banquets tickets. Dave Moore made the motion and Wayne Wilson seconded. Motion carried.


Based on the bar audit, it was suggested that if we have 2 bartenders there should be two cash registers. Scott Sinz made a motion and Chad Mogen seconded to purchase an additional cash register to match the current register. Motion carried with 1 objection.


Chad Mogen made a motion and Scott Sinz seconded to offer Gary Schwoch $300 to fix his vehicle that was damaged during the Women On Target Shoot.


A motion to increase the half barrel price is tabled until next month.



Motion was made by Bob Kistner and seconded by Mike Kistner to adjourn at 6:45 p.m.

  1. CALL TO ORDER

President Larry Lapp called the meeting to order.


  1. SECRETARY’S REPORT-BRIDGET SCHROEDER

A reading of the minutes was waived due to them being published in the newsletter, email and posted on the website Mike Benzel moved and Al Finder seconded a motion to accept the minutes as printed in the newsletter. Motion carried.


  1. TREASURER’S REPORT-HELMUTH ALBRECHT

­­­­Reading of the treasurers was given. Bar & Building account total revenues $5,788.00 total expenses $6,014.71; Total general account revenues $0 total expenses $2,923. Duke Holmberg moved and Mike Kistner seconded a motion to accept the treasurer's report. Motion carried.

  1. DUNN COUNTY CONSERVATION ALLIANCE REPORT-SCOTT SINZ

Thank you for those that helped with the Disabled/Ederly fishing event. The land purchase has slowed down for a little bit. $16,500 has been raised however; the seller has countered at $29,000. Ducks Unlimited will not commit to any funds until they have more grant funds.


  1. WISCONSIN CONSERVATION CONGRESS REPORT-RUSS HITZ

August 14 the committee will be going over the district meeting.

Next meeting is August 1, 8, 15 at 7:00 p.m. Please see Dennis Simpson 14 people have taken tickets and we have 3450 tickets out; Please sign up to work and sell tickets.



  1. YOUTH – JIM CLEVEN

Youth Bear Hunt; have 11 baits out. If we are going to be a club that promotes youth learn to hunts, then it takes a club; not just a few individuals.

  1. RIFLE RANGE & HUNTER SAFETY-DUKE HOLMBERG

64 signed up for Hunter Education. The range has been used quite a bit; even in the hot weather. Youth Muzzleload shoot is Saturday, please come on Friday to help set up. New culverts have been ordered and delivered however; there is not enough to pay. Will need additional funds to help cover the additional expense. A motion was made by Jeff Peabody and seconded by Dave Kraft to donate $250 to help complete the project.

  1. LEGISLATIVE/XCEL ENERGY – MIKE BENZEL

Excel meeting was on July 12, and the remaining $16,000 was spent. $4,500 went to the Town of New Haven the other $12,000 is going to be for conferences. For phosphorus on the lake banks. Tainter lake will be drawn by one foot.


  1. ICE FISHING CONTEST - MIKE KISTNER & LES KUESEL

Next meeting August 1st at 8:00 p.m. Want to discuss some new ideas for the contest.


J. HARMON CHICKEN SUPPER – BOB DELONG/MIKE BENZEL

227 was served last month and increase of 40 from last year. $477.28 monthly profit. $1,351 YTD. We still need some volunteers to help serve and clean up.


K. BUILDINGS & GROUNDS – SCOTT SESTON

Would like to have a work meeting on August 3; at 5:00 p.m. to get ready for re-seeding.
