EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

February 27, 2012


PRESENT: Helmuth Albrecht, Les Kuesel, Kellen Casselius, Mike Kistner, Gary Schwoch, Scott Seston, Len Frank, Bob Kistner Heather Kistner Dave Moore Bridget Schroeder, Jim Thompson, Chad Mogen


  1. Chad gave an update about the Endowment Fund. Currently the Endowment Fund is at $17,146.00



  1. Chad reminded the committee about Poaching Reward of $100.



3. Duke Holmberg gave a presentation on how the rifle range works for our club. Rifle Range was sold to the county for $1, which means that the county allots a yearly budget. All money that is donated in the range box goes back to the county. Any extra money that is needed in addition to the yearly allotment comes from the Fish & Game or Pistol Club.



4. Wayne Wilson gave a presentation on how the pull tabs and games work for the club. Currently the cost per pull tab deck is $57 and profits are running between $600 and $700 per year. These profits are then deposited into the Scholarship Fund. Wayne was asked to get a legal interpretation for these pull tabs. Money from video games is pulled every 3 months. Yearly profits have ranged between $300 to $500. Dave Moore made a motion and Gary Schwoch seconded to have Pookie get together profit numbers for each machine and made a recommendation at next months meeting regarding about which games should be kept or deleted. Motion Carried.



  1. Cedar Falls Boat Landing is requesting funds for repairs. Heather Kistner made a motion and Jim Thompson seconded to donate $500 for repairs. Motion Carried.



  1. Motion made by Kellen Casselius and seconded by Dave Moore to send 2012 proposed expenditures to general meeting for acceptance. Motion Carried.



Heather Kistner made a motion and Les Kuesel seconded to adjourn at 7:05 p.m.

  1. CALL TO ORDER

President Chad Mogen called the meeting to order.


  1. SECRETARY’S REPORT-BRIDGET SCHROEDER

A reading of the minutes was waived due to them being published in the newsletter, email and posted on the website Mike Benzel moved and Paul Jacobon seconded a motion to accept the minutes as printed in the newsletter. Motion carried.


  1. TREASURER’S REPORT-HELMUTH ALBRECHT

$(10,958.58) in general checking, $(1,823.74) in bar/building account. Duke Holmberg moved and Wayne Wilson seconded a motion to accept the treasurer's report. Motion carried.

42 in Hunter Education to begin on Tuesday 2/28. Recently met with County Facilities for an annual report.

Things are progressing well. Still waiting to find out about NRA grant. Flyers are done and the next meeting is March 12th at 6:00 p.m. April’s email is ruger77@hotmail.com if you have questions.

Work meeting scheduled for March 10th at 9:00 a.m. at the Behling farm to bag up corn.

Had 70 youth participate in the ice fishing contest. Next meeting is March 5th at 7:00 p.m. to discuss upcoming new events.


  1. FISH CRIBS-DAVE PECHMILLER

12 fish cribs are completed. Thanks to all that helped out.


  1. LEGISLATIVE/EXCEL ENERGY – MIKE BENZEL

Sand Hill Crane Bill and Wolf Bill. Proposed Duck stamp to increase to $25


  1. ICE FISHING CONTEST – MIKE KISTNER/LES KUESEL

Thanks to everyone who helped out. Total profits so far are $7,968.65; still waiting on more revenue from poster ads. Wrap up meeting scheduled for March 19th at 7:00 p.m.
