  2. Operation Tip-Up: There will be a meeting on December 2. Joan from the Chamber will be here. There is some concern that there may not be enough people to support this event. The VOW event is scheduled for January 11, 2014.

Scott Seston, seconded. Motion passed.

  5. Other ~ none

  1. New Business:

  1. Lake Menomin Ice Fishing Curfew: There is a current curfew on Lake Menomin for being out on the ice past 9 p.m. The alliance has talked to the Chief of Police about this. We are the only lake in the area with a curfew and we would like to have that city ordinance abolished. This will be brought up to the City Council and it has been requested that members attend the meeting or call their council person to change the ordinance. Currently it is scheduled to be brought up at the December 2nd Meeting at 7 p.m.

  2. Wakanda Landing Pavilion Real Estate: People have approached the Mayor about getting the land that Pavilion sits on deeded to the Fish and Game Association, Inc. We take care of the Pavilion and it is right on the property line. The City Council will be asked to approve a land transfer.

  3. WINTERDAZE: WE have been asked to provide wood to the City Festival on December 12, 2013. They need enough wood for three burn barrels for about three hours each. It was felt that enough people had wood that we could supply enough for them.

  4. Award: Discussion about recognizing a member for 25 years of service. Board thought it was a good idea and Gary will get a plaque.

  5. Looking for Club Minutes: The books with the Minutes from 2002 – Present are missing. Martha noted that she only found out about the books in August, and has not placed the current year in them. If anyone knows where the books are, please see that they get returned.

Minutes ~General Meeting

November 18, 2013

    1. Call to Order

    2. Pledge of Allegiance. President Gary Schwoch lead the group in the Pledge.

    3. Secretary's Report: Martha Stratton

Motion made by Duke Holmberg and seconded by Jerome Evenson to accept the report.

    1. Treasurer's Report: Bill Schutts

Bill has heard at his job that we are broke. He wanted to clarify that we are not broke, but at the rate of fixed expenses we need a method of revenue to continue to fund things at the current level. It is looking like we will be able to start 2014 around $2500 a head of where we were last year. The bar still needs to pay back the $5000 loan. Because of the bar, we would have a hard time becoming a 501 (c) 4. It was suggested that we rent the building to our events such as Hunter’s Safety. Every time we use the building we should be paying rent, also. Al Finder moved and Mike Benzel seconded a motion to accept the treasurer's report. Motion carried.

    1. Correspondence: Gary Schwoch

Received a check from Jim and Darlene Thompson for $100 in memory of his Cousin Don Williams. Thank you from Paul Jacobson for the plant that received on the death of his father.

    1. Buss Report: Club enjoys a joke, and it is even better if we all pick on Gary Buss.

    2. Executive Committee Report: Gary Schwoch

President Gary Schwoch presented the Executive Committee Report (See Report). The highlights were that the Board approved the building rentals. Gary is going to write a letter to Bridget as we can no longer have the Rob Schraeder fund. We are working to get the land that the Pavilion sits on deeded to the Fish and Game. Please contact your city council members to agree to this transfer. Told the club about needing wood for the HOLIDAZ and that we are looking for the Binders of the minutes that are normally in the storeroom.

    1. DNR Report: Jim Cleven, Jess Carstens, Chad Mogen

Have been receiving report about bear. Jim told a story about some folks using crossbows for hunting deer this season. (One of the bows was suppose be a $4000 bow) They are fairly sure that this law will be passed, but currently it is against the law to use a crossbow.

    1. Dunn County Alliance Report: Dan Prestebak, Scott Sinz

There is approval for $156,000 for Dobbs Landing. We need title insurance now. The grant is approved for 50% of the appraised value. Word is that they have received the NAWCA Grant (North American Wetlands Conservation Act) for $75,000. They are planning for a closing on May, 31st 2014. There is request to get rid of the city ordinance requiring one to be off the lake by 9 p.m. We are not aware of any other lake in the area that has a cerfew. The vandalism is worse now. Would like to have people at the council meeting to support this. There was motion by Rich Levethal to support a change and seconded by Wayne Wilson. Motion carried. Tainter Lake issues. When you do a sub-development you need a public lake access. The township wanted to take the land and tax it, but then figured out that they needed to swap the land so that the access would still exist. Edgewater acres is a condominium, and they don’t have to have public access, but if the property is sold, or redone in a different way, Condo’s to private, etc, they will need to find the access, and currently the owner doesn’t want to. So there is a major question if the county is going to require it. Mike Benzel says that there should be a boat landing right before the camp ground.
