Executive Board Meeting/Newsletter

May 18, 2015

Members Present: Garett Sinz, Russ Hitz, Scott Sinz, Ryan Gondeck, Kellen Cassillius, Gary Schwoch, Dave Pechmiller, Jim Cleven, Curt Hagberg, Dave Frank, Rich Leach, Gary Buss,

Old Business:

  1. Bylaws: Still in progress, they will be integrated with the new Policies & Procedures Manual when finished. Everyone’s input is desired. It’s the perfect time to get those opinions out there about how the club should be run.

  2. Building Rental: Brought up to remind us that the club will pay 4 members $25/each to put the tent up (&take it down) for a function where the building is being rented.

  3. Trap Team: No news yet from the Alliance clubs; might be postpones til Fall.

  4. Bar Manager recommendation: Ryan Gondeck (Bar Manager Chairman) motioned, Scott Sinz 2nd, that we hire Crystal Lee as our new bar manager. PASSED

  5. Bar Tender License deadlines: Potential bar tenders: get your city application & proof of class completion turned in by the end of this month. These bartenders will be strictly volunteer, to be used at the Dunn County Fair or in emergency situations that may arise.

  6. Dock: Meeting May 26 @ 5:00 to rejuvenate our dock & install it near our shelter at the Wakanda Boat Landing.

New Business:

  1. Dobbs Landing for June Meeting: Will be brought up to the general membership, as well as the generation of a Dobbs Landing “Improvement” committee to generate ideas & prioritize them according to what the club feels should be done with/to the property. A Dobbs Landing Meeting will be held June 02 @ 5:00.

    1. Pot Luck

    2. Bonfire

    3. DCF&G’s Committee for Recommendation for projects; prioritize

  2. Camping at Wakanda Boat Landing: Someone had set up a tent by our pavilion, had their cell phone plugged into an outlet, & had clothes hanging out to dry. Nobody was around so Kellen unplugged the phone & tossed it into the tent. When Kellen checked on it at a later date everything was gone. It’s still a mystery.

  3. Other: Kids Don’t Float: Scott Sinz brought up the idea of getting on board with a new DNR program. A weather-proof box would be built that would contain kid’s life jackets. The box would be placed near the Wakanda Boat Landing. If a family was coming boating and forgot to bring enough PFD’s for their kids they would have a place to borrow them and return them when they were done with them. The DNR (Wayne Flak?) would keep it supplied with PFD’s in the event someone would forget to return them. Date set: May 26 @ 5:00 To see if we can build the box. Bring hammers, screw guns, screws, skill saws. An emergency room at the clinic will be on stand-by.

  1. Other: Bar Management: Ryan Gondeck reported on a recent Bar Committee Meeting:

  1. A work meeting will be arranged to clean out the large room behind the bar as well as the walk-in safe.

  2. A new liquor inventory will be done.

  3. $200 spending limit on bar manager unless previously approved.

  4. Bar manager will have credit card with limits.

  5. Dunn Co. Fair bartenders get your paper work turned into city clerk’s office by May 25th if possible. (learn2serve.com).

  6. Large juke box will be replaced by a smaller, cheaper, wall mounted unit.

  7. One pool table will be removed til pool league starts again in the fall.

  8. Poker machine idea was dismissed.

  9. Self-contained pull-tab machine idea still being evaluated.

  10. “Open on Thursdays” idea received a lot of discussion. This, along with a food option, was moved by Scott Sinz, 2nd Gary Schwoch, was Passed and will continue to be pursued.

  11. Club open of the public on evening of the Fourth of July, Freedom Fest; moved by Scott Sinz, 2nd Dave Frank, was PASSED. More details to come.
