DNR Report: Jim Cleven, Jess Carstens, Chad Mogen: Jess urged the club to commit $500/year for the next 2 years to help rehabilitate Powell Lake (just in side Eau Claire County) and 60-acre oxbow in the Dunnville Bottoms. Sometimes this oxbow floods & receives the benefit of fresh water from the Chippewa and sometimes it doesn't. The improvements would help it get flooded consistently and continue to be great duck habitat. The project will cost $75,000 ($41,000 of which will be paid for in Duck Stamp monies). Jess will (or has) applied for a NAWCAW grant to raise supplementary funds and the chances of this getting approved are greatly increased if he can show support from a group of local conservation organizations; the more the better. 1. Moved to partner with the DNR on this project made by Jim Thompson; 2nd by Bob Giede. Motion Passed. 2. Motion to commit $500/year for the next two years (1,000 total) to this project made by Ryan Gondeck; 2nd by Tom Koranski. Motion Passed

Standing/Special Committee Reports
Buss Report: As you know, times are tough and Gary is on a fixed income. He's been looking for work and would appreciate any help. He'd like to be employed washing mirrors because it's the only job he can see himself doing.
a. Bar Management: Ryan Gondeck: [Two whales walked into our bar the other day. The first one says, “EeeeeeeeeOooooooooUuuuuuuuu.” The second one looked at him and said, “What the hell is wrong with you?”]
Ryan announced a Budget Meeting for the club to be held Wednesday, November 4th @ 6:00. This meeting is for everyone with any concerns or ideas about how we spend our money. If you are a committee chair or have a special interest in something the club does be sure to be there.
b. Buildings & Grounds: Ryan Gondeck, Scott Sinz: 1. Scott is getting a bid on replacing our outside lighting. The lights are very expensive to operate and some of them don't shut off during the day like they're supposed to. He thinks 4 LED lights w/sensors & installed would cost between $1,500 to $2,000 but would pay for themselves shortly. 2. Dave Frank will get help from the city to make two “Rob Schroeder Memorial Trail” signs for our walking trail to the lakeside pavillion. 3. Gary Buss reported that Bob Hintz made a house call to check on our tempermental riding lawn mower. They logically thought the problem was female-related at first but it proved to be only a loose cable. We gave Bob $10 & 2 chicken supper tickets. He works cheap. Thanks Bob.
d. Fall Banquet: Scott Sinz, Gary Buss, Gary Schwoch: Gary reported an extra $550 was received ($500 from Scheels & $50 from Dr. Phillips) bringing the total to $19,065.
g. Harmon Chicken Dinners: Bob Delong: The night following this DCF&G meeting Bob reported we had 155 guests. Kellen reported income of $958 (w/o costs of labor, liquor)
j. Ice Fishing Contest: Less Kuesel: Les needed 2 people to be in charge of handing out raffle tickets; Garrett Sinz & Brent Schuller volunteered. He also needs 5 people to be in charge of calling businesses to contribute to our poster. Scott Sinz kind of volunteered.
k. Kitchen: Crystal: Everything OK
m. Pheasants: Curt Hagberg: Curt reported a another successful release day. Of the 2,500 birds we started out with we managed to release about 2,300. One of the lowest mortality rates ever. Curt would like someone else to take over as chairman next year but will still be available to help. Dave Pechmiller recently had some interaction with Pheasants Forever members and thought perhaps they would like to contribute financially or with labor to next year's pheasant project.
n. Policy Review: Ryan Gondeck, Rich Levanthal, Garrett Sinz :no report
